Everyone talks about networking and using their network. LinkedIn’s Top Career Coach, Dilip Saraf, says you don’t want to “use” your network, but rather leverage your network. In order to leverage your network, you need to constantly contribute along the way. When you provide something of value, others want to do the same for you.
Make sure you are there to help out others, provide advice, make an introduction, etc. Be sure you are more often than not giving and not always asking for favors. Your network is more likely to offer, without even being asked, if you regularly contribute and help others.
