Having on the job experience when you graduate from college is certainly a great thing to have. However, it is not a requirement by any means. Some companies will bring you on as an intern where you can learn on the job and then get hired full-time if it is a good match.
IT and business consultant Rajiv Munshi explains that even if you don’t have specific on the job experience when you graduate, you may have other skills such as analytical and leadership skills.
The hiring company also looks for people who bring great ideas to the table and someone whose personality matches their company culture.
In short, if you were not able to intern during college or work at a summer job to gain direct experience, be confident and showcase your other attributes to stand out during the interview process and get hired.
