Speaker and author Rick Deutsch says it is important when you arrive at our job interview not to be prepared both with what in your head and also in your hand. Before the day of your interview, create a checklist of what you could bring to display your experience and accomplishments. By bringing a small portfolio, you have an opportunity to showcase and truly display your career accomplishments.
Of course still bring a few extra resumes, but these will be used more as a reference to give the other items more context. While applicants often show up to their interview with a briefcase, it’s what is inside that can give you an advantage over the rest of the crowd by allowing you to visually share your accomplishments with the hiring manager.
